Meet Mike Finucan 

Mike Finucan joined Mortgage Network, Inc. in June of 2003 as a Loan Officer.  Mike has worked in our corporate office, our Hilton Head Island office, and recently moved to our new Bluffton, SC location, in the Hilton Head area.

Mike graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  He also received a commission as an Officer in the United States Air Force.  After his tour in the Air Force, Mike pursued a career in commercial aviation where he amassed over 12,000 hours of flight experience.  In 1999 Mike earned his Captain wings with TWA, and subsequently American Airlines.  Mike holds type-ratings on several commercial jets as well as a Certified Flight Instructor rating.  He has also served on several volunteer pilot committees and has worked extensively on pilot advocacy campaigns dealing with complex contractual and legal matters.  “I kind of just fell into that work,” says Mike “but found I really enjoyed the challenge and the opportunity to help others.”

Mike brings the same dedication and disciplined approach to the mortgage business that he applies in the cockpit.  According to Mike, the two careers, though different from a technical standpoint, share many similarities.  “In both cases you’re simply trying to get from point A to B in the most efficient, timely and cost-effective manner,” said Mike.  “So, the focus is always on good strategy and planning.  Once you understand the variables, the correct course becomes clear.”

A native New Englander, Mike currently lives on Hilton Head Island where he enjoys Lowcountry living with his wife and 2 children.  Mike enjoys golf, music, reading, and outdoor fun with family.
